Here is an idea for Anthony Albanese to take up for the betterment of Australia. Ban companies that use tax havens. The PM could ensure that the Australian government does not do business with those multinational corporations who do not pay their fair share of tax via the nefarious means of profit shifting to tax havens. Microsoft does it. Meta does it. Amazon does it. Google (Alphabet) does it. News Corp does it. Apple does it. Pepsi too. Lots of them do it, as tax accountancy consultancy firms facilitate this behaviour.
“More than 1,200 large companies paid no tax in 2022-23, an Australian Taxation Office (ATO) report reveals.”
“Recent analysis has found that every year multinationals shift an estimated $850 billion, or up to 40% of foreign profits, to tax havens. Australia lost an estimated $11 billion in tax revenue to multinational profit-shifting activities in 2020. This lost revenue should be funding much needed improvements to health, education and other public services that are essential to fair and equitable society and a sustainable environment for businesses and communities.”
Hey Albo, Stop Doing Business With Tax Avoiders
It would seem to be common sense to all Australians paying their income tax every year that these big companies making billions downunder, but not paying their fair share of tax, that our government should not support this kind of behaviour. Stop mouthing platitudes and do something about it! We are all sick of hearing about what you can’t do. It takes courage to stand up to bullies like Donald Trump and his cohort of corporate crooks. Australia wants a leader that we can be proud of. Ban companies that use tax havens. It is a no brainer really. Why would we keep on putting big bucks in the pockets of these oligarchs and billionaires, when they won’t pay their fair share of tax?
Ambition & Aggrandisement Aussie Style
You can be part of the solution or remain part of the problem; there is no other middle ground. Australia does not want to be a cog in the machine of the American multinational hegemony. We are all sick of being ripped off everywhere we look. Sick to the guts of the corruption and greed stealing our lunch and that of our children. We either take a stand against the machine or meekly roll over, as we have been doing for decades. Little Australia, the nation run by men with low self-esteem. We give away our resources to multinational miners for bugger all royalties and subsidise them via generous tax relief. Why do we do that? Why do our politicians give away the family farm? Corruption or stupidity? Perhaps, both? Jobs for the boys post-politics. Scott Morrison a former PM, is working for the military industrial complex in the USA.
“In Australia there has long been disquiet about the revolving door between high political office and big business. A survey published two years ago by a major public health journal found two-thirds of people believe public officials — including politicians — should either be banned from lobbying altogether, or subject to a cooling-off period of as long as five years.
There is Joel Fitzgibbon, a former defence minister turned lobbyist for a firm whose clients include French weapons maker Dassault, Spanish shipbuilder Navantia and arms company Raytheon. And Brendan Nelson, also a former defence minister, who is now a senior executive at aerospace company Boeing.
Joe Hockey, treasurer in the Abbott government, and Christopher Pyne, yet another former defence minister, also make fascinating case studies.”
Who do these men really serve? They would justify their lobbying on behalf of foreign multinationals as in Australia’s interest. Self-serving men pocketing plenty always do.
“Australia is famous for the generous deals it cuts the fossil fuel industry. The lack of taxation derived from miners and gas companies making huge profits extracting and selling our resources is becoming infamous globally. I think it is time to investigate politicians dealing with the fossil fuel industry. Have any of our investigative journalists really dug deep into the financial affairs of the state and federal ministers involved in cutting these generous deals. Is it incompetence or something more sinister? Why would sane members of parliament responsible for Australia’s resources fail to capitalise on their worth for their constituents? “

Stop Supporting Multinational Tax Cheats
Ban companies that use tax havens. A Labor government with the largest ever parliamentary majority should do this. Make a principled stand, rather than a political one for a change. I dare you Albo! The country would like to see if you have got in in you.

Hey Australia, do you realise that most of the news you watch, read and listen to is run by News Corp – a company that does not pay its fair share of tax in Australia. Stop supporting tax avoiders with your business and your compliance. Take a stand against Trumpism and multinationals not paying tax downunder.
