Yet another, executive order from the President has been found to be unconstitutional and illegal. Lawless Trump regime tariffs struck down by Supreme Court. The economic wastage committed by this administration is enormous, as it fails to govern appropriately. No man is an island, not even, Donald Trump. Only Congress can enact these tariffs according to the SCOTUS ruling. No President can apply tariffs in this manner, as the US Constitution tells us that this is only a job for Congress. President Trump is spitting chips and saying nasty things about the supreme court justices that ruled against his tariffs.
SCOTUS Rules Against IEEPO Trump Tariffs
If President Trump is unable to come up with something to stymie this SCOTUS ruling, then the collected tariff money will have to be paid back. Unfortunately, end user consumers will not be getting any money back, only wholesale importers. This is just another example of how economies stiff the ordinary people. The Trump regime denied that American consumers would pay the tariffs, which was a lie, of course. Tariffs act as consumption taxes because the costs are passed onto the consumer via higher prices. Lawless Trump regime tariffs struck down by Supreme Court. Justices Roberts, Gorsuch and Barrett ruled with the more liberal trio of SCOTUS justices in this case.
“The Supreme Court on Friday struck down President Donald Trump’s sweeping tariffs — a major repudiation of a core piece of Trump’s economic program.
The 6-3 decision is a rare instance of the conservative-led court reining in Trump’s expansive use of executive power. Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Amy Coney Barrett and Neil Gorsuch joined the court’s three liberals in the majority.”
Trump’s Emergency Power Trickery Fails To Impress SCOTUS
President Donald Trump has tried to dictate to America via executive actions in contravention of the US Constitution and Congress. SCOTUS has, through this ruling, reminded Congress of their duties to the nation. Dictators produce weakness around them and the Republican members of Congress have exemplified this. They have failed to uphold their end of the political bargain by kowtowing to President Trump again and again. The fail safes in the system have been gamed by a mob boss style presidency. The Trump regime has taken the United States down pathways of extremism long warned against by the founding fathers. In the instance of these dangerous tariffs it is better late than never for the checks and balances to prevent further damage to the global economy and order. Tariffs on this scale invariably end up starting real wars, as history shows us.
“In the wake of the Stock Market Crash of 1929, President Hoover signed the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act (“Smoot-Hawley Act”) into law. The Smoot-Hawley Act sought to raise import duties by an average of 20%. Its goal was to protect American farmers from the economic downturn brought on by the crash. European countries promptly retaliated with tariffs of their own. Overall, the tariffs caused trade between Europe and the U.S. to decline by two-thirds. Although the exact economic impact of the tariff is difficult to quantify and is subject to debate, some observers argued that the tariffs contributed to European bank failures and exacerbated the economic turmoil of the 1930s, thereby giving rise to extremist ideologies throughout Europe . “
Donald Trump Is A Liar & Bully
Lawless Trump regime tariffs struck down by Supreme Court. Donald Trump is a proven liar and bully. He represents the interests of billionaires but pretends to be the champion of the working folk LOL. Having a lawless and irresponsible President in the White House is a dangerous and destructive situation for Americans and the world. These tariffs were sewing the seeds of distrust and disgruntlement around the globe. Short term gain for some and likely long time pain for many more. These are the ingredients which produce conflict. Tariffs and protectionism are bad ideas and most economists recognise that. They are not the answer to the inequity ever present in the US economy. Getting the rich to pay their taxes would be a simpler solution to many of the financial problems facing the country.
You know, the argument put forward by companies and wealthy individuals for having their tax rates lowered is that they will invest that money to grow the economy. Well, they have had 50 years of continuously lower taxes and how has that worked out for everybody? The truth is staring you in the face. Wake up America!
Rich Men Screwing Us
“Rich men pulling together to campaign against paying tax on super profits downunder. In Australia, we have seen how multinational corporations will do anything to avoid paying their fair share of tax. The PwC betrayal of the Australian federal government by divulging tax change’s information to its corporate clients in direct contravention of its responsibilities to the government. This was really treasonous behaviour, but once again the protection payment racket meant no criminal prosecution was undertaken. This boy’s club continues to let down the Australian people who expected to see heads roll.”
