I was watching something about the Chinese cultural revolution the other day and you know what it reminded me of today? Trump’s culture wars in his second administration. The crazy decisions being made around tariffs, DEI, vaccinations, ICE, cancelling green energy projects, the national guard, stifling free speech, and not releasing the Epstein files are all driven by special interest groups. These are not in the economic interest of the country. The immense cost and wastage of many of these executive and illegal presidential actions being challenged in the courts aren’t doing the nation any favours. The destruction unleashed in the Chinese cultural revolution damaged so many lives and set that country back for decades.
“Since Donald Trump won the White House, there have been subtle and overt changes in mass culture — particularly in its approach to Donald Trump and the culture wars.”
Culture Wars Cost Countries’ Economically
Any time in history, when governments get into the cultural space with an agenda it ends up costing that nation economically. Donald Trump’s regime is acting more like a totalitarian communist outfit in the way they are micromanaging businesses and getting into the private sphere of things via crony capitalism. This is not Republicanism, as we know it, the MAGA ham fisted approach is more like National Socialism. Forcing change with strongarm tactics does not encourage economic growth. Indeed, the economic signs in the US are heading toward dire. Both inflation and unemployment are rising – this is called stagflation, and we have not seen it since 1970s and 1980s.
Politics Has Always Been About The Economy, Stupid
Right wing folk in the US were too willing to believe bad things about Joe Biden’s government. The economic performance of Old Joe is beginning to look a hell of a lot better than Trump’s efforts in this first year. Uncertainty is deterring investment in the US. Americans are suckers for a story. Reality has, often, been a long way off for many in their reading of the situation at home. Trump’s OTT brash confidence has appealed to lots of people who really should know better about Trump. Biden’s age and infirmity were big vote killers. The Democratic Party should have known that. By the time Harris got the nod it was too late. Still, voting for Donald Trump was a big mistake for America. The nutjobs and extremists Trump has assembled for his cabinet will do untold damage to the US. Another national disaster or crisis will see this lot crumble and the consequences will be deadly. Nearly a million Americans died from Covid last time Trump was in office.

Trump’s Racist Agenda
Racism is a sickness of the mind prevalent in folk who want to blame their troubles on others, instead of taking responsibility for themselves. Losers are lining up to join their white supremacist ranks. It is 2025, and that we are still battling with this is a f****** disgrace. Charlie Kirk was a racist and white supremacist. A grifter who cashed in on hate. The gun culture of the United States delivered no surprises when a young man raised around a love of guns in Utah committed foul murder. Political violence is no stranger to America. The anti-DEI campaigns are not going to help anyone but just provoke more violence instead.
Trump Taking America Backwards
Politicians who exploit grievance, like Trump and many of his MAGA Republican cronies, will achieve little for the nation. Running around making noise about fringe issues does not sit well when you are in government. The idea is to govern for all citizens and not just a few. Donald Trump’s culture wars are already damaging America. Business does not thrive in times like these. Hundreds of millions of Americans are being held hostage by a small cohort of extremists – the MAGA Republicans. These nutjobs are destroying their country. Jimmy Kimmel being taken off air and TV networks being threatened with losing their licence will take its toll upon ordinary folk. Authoritarian regimes never know when to quit, whilst they are ahead.
“In a land chock full of guns, hatred has become a currency. A young American man, from a Mormon family in Utah, who grew up around guns, I mean the family embraced a love of guns, used that weapon of choice to kill another man. This is an American story. Guns and hatred. The culture worships guns. Every movie and video game is packed with automatic weaponry. Why did Tyler Robinson kill Charlie Kirk? It’s pretty bloody obvious. The why was Kirk’s expressed and implicit hatred of non-white and different folk in America.”
