Who Supports One Nation?
0 7 mins 7 hrs

Did you know that a lot of the people supporting One Nation are older, white folk. Who supports One Nation? Most of these individuals have made their money, own their home outright, and have their investments to live off. Therefore, when they bang on about slashing immigration coming into Australia, they don’t care about the real economy that much. If you have money in the bank, maybe you can afford to wage culture wars. The rest of us cannot. There are plenty of jobs in our economy that Anglo-Aussies won’t do. If we ban those coming into the country, who normally do these jobs, what is going to happen to all these essential and often low paying jobs? Who will fill them?

Older White Folk Fear The Future

It is a fact that older, retired folk tend to be judgemental about the world around them. Detrimental about younger Aussies and the modern Australia. They watch too much Channel 7 sensational news porn designed to shock them with stuff about home invasions and youth crime waves. The truth is that these days we live in cities containing millions of people. Oldies, generally, hold onto outdated small town attitudes and are encouraged by the click bait media to do so. Social media feeds are designed to enrage and disgust. We are all being manipulated by a doom scrolling digital sector to think the worst about everything.

Blame it on the dark skinned migrant or refugee is a One Nation dog whistle, which appeals to oldies.

One Nation Voter Demographics

“However, there are three clear demographic cleavages:

Age — strongest among older voters. The shift is increasingly concentrated in the 55+ cohort. Across metro and regional locations the One Nation share is highest for 55+ voters, and this is the age group driving much of the party’s seat competitiveness in regional and outer-metro seats.

Location — strongest outside inner metro areas. One Nation’s vote is noticeably stronger in regional/rural and outer-metropolitan electorates. These are the places with smaller shares of university graduates and where Labor’s campaigning resources (and booth presence) are often weaker.

Education — concentrated among non-university voters. The move to One Nation is most pronounced among voters who didn’t complete university — in particular those with only school or TAFE-level qualifications. Put together, age + region + non-university education is the “sweet spot” for the One Nation surge.”

Crime Facts & One Nation

Hey, there are corrupt and crooked Chinese, Indian and Middle Eastern Australians doing bad stuff. Equally, there are plenty of Anglo-Aussies, also, doing bad shit in our cities. 28 million people live in Australia. White supremacy and xenophobia will not end crime downunder. Human nature has long had a tendency to take the easy option and steal from others. Racism and bad mouthing immigrants creates the impetus for crime, alongside economic neglect and indifference.

Making people feel welcome disarms the exploitation of vulnerable migrants by organised crime. Doing more for migrants to this country is the better way.

Big Business Is Not Investing In Australian Businesses

Productivity has been moribund in Australia for years. That is not about workers being lazy. It is about big business not investing enough in their businesses. Australia is chock full of duopolies and oligopolies. You know? Coles and Woolies. Telstra and Optus. The 4 big banks. A few insurance giants. Google and Facebook for ads. These companies have stymied competition in the market. Capitalism does not work properly without competition. Consumer and worker power are dead. Shareholders are king. Big Tech has gamed the system at our expense. Our governments failed to protect competition and were bought off by big business interests. American multinationals don’t pay their fair share of corporate tax downunder. We miss out on tens of billions every year. Rich Aussies avoid paying tax via clever tax accountancy. Gas companies and miners receive huge subsidies from the Australian government to the tune of billions each year. These are the real problems with our economy. Immigration is a smoke screen.

One Nation Is A Dead Letter

Who supports One Nation? More retirees than workers. The One Nation platform is not forward thinking. It is about old ideas and about an Australia that no longer exists. You cannot turn the clock back folks. This is a multicultural nation, where the majority of people have come from another country or their parents have. Australia is a better place for that. I for one do not want to live in a place where people like Pauline Hanson dominate. Nasty, ugly and dumb are adjectives I would use to describe her. Australia deserves something more beautiful, intelligent and caring. Old and ugly belong in the past.

Populist Politics Is Completely Corrupt

“President Trump, in an obvious act of desperation, is offering every adult American a cheque for $5000 if his Republican party wins the primaries. This would cost some $1.3 trillion in a nation already $40 trillion in debt. Responsible Republican politics? The corrupt nature of populist politics is there for all to see. Now, I know Americans are pretty dumb but Trump has previously failed to honour promises for DOGE dividend cheques and for tariffs he imposed. Compound that with his promise to improve affordability for everyday Americans, which has not been realised thanks to his war with Iran and those many Trump tariffs.”
