Why Do People Back The Loudest Voice In The Room?
0 9 mins 12 minutes

Psychologically those individuals who back strongman leaders often feel that they need the protection of bullies. Trump voters in America, the MAGA faithful fall into this category. Why do people back the loudest voice in the room? White supremacists and racists are, when you boil it down, fearful of those they perceive as different from themselves. They want the faces on their streets to comfortably resemble their own. Far right political parties like One Nation use social media to emphasise examples of crimes being committed by Australians with dark skin, as if these folk are the only ones doing such things. This misleading propaganda rallies their supporters around key elements of their anti-immigration platform.

What Is It About Authoritarian Leaders?

Christians backing Donald Trump, turn a blind eye to his corruption and crimes, because he has identified them as part of his supporter base. Trump pays lip service to Christian Nationalists and has a number of their extreme policies as part of his Project 2025. The ICE detention and deportation programs are a large part of the white supremacist policy to turn the United States into a white, Christian nation. And no, this was not the intention of the founding fathers of America. The United States was originally created, in part, to escape religious intolerance by the state. The Republican party has been captured by Trumpist MAGA extremists and no longer fulfills what its founders envisaged for it. Abraham Lincoln was a Republican president; and there could be no individual statesman further from Trump in character and moral integrity.

Loud & Strident Voices Appeal At Times Of Uncertainty

Why do people back the loudest voice in the room? You could say that weak and fearful people get behind strongman leaders at times of economic uncertainty. The Great Depression hit Germany particularly hard in the early 1930s, because it was American investment which had been powering its economy through the 1920s. The stripping of this saw Adolf Hitler’s Nazi party grow dramatically in popularity, with its extreme racial policies blaming the Jews. Scared folk want scapegoats to blame for their own misfortunes. One Nation in Australia is peddling the same nasty story but this time about Muslims, and as President Trump has thrown the global economy into reverse the economics are uncertain globally. In this era of social media, it is easy to manipulate folk via fake news, as the algorithm keeps sending them the same flavour of stuff they watch. Shock, horror stuff about darkies and Muslims doing nefarious things. Prejudices are reinforced online and shared by bots and fellow travellers.

A Vote For Trump Is A Vote For Putin

Trump is in bed with Putin, as these two authoritarian leaders syphon off billions via corrupt means. The Trump war with Iran, has sent oil and diesel prices sky high. Now, Trump is saying he is going to buy Russian diesel. There is another war still going on with the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Europe, Australia and the United States are all supposed to be on the side of the victim here, Ukraine. Economic sanctions against Russia have been in effect for years. Trump is a traitor and a crook. An incompetent grifter, who has buggered up the global economy and we are all paying the price for his mismanagement of it.

Pauline Hanson and her billionaire backer, Gina Rinehart, are big supporters of Donald Trump. Thus, by association, they are in Putin’s Russia camp with Trump. A vote for One Nation is a vote for extreme corruption and the world run by crooks.

Loud Does Not Equate With Wise

Why do people back the loudest voice in the room? Right wing politicians promise easy solutions to complex problems. Populists rarely ever deliver what they promise. Trump promised affordability. Trump promised no more forever wars. Trump blamed Joe Biden, but the Biden economy was far better than what we have now. In Australia, Pauline Hanson, now backed by billionaire money, is stridently attacking those political opponents around her. Hair dyed blood red and venom on her tongue, she opines disgracefully about new Australians and the damage they have done to the economy. Pauline Hanson has told us that there are no good Muslims. This outrageous statement merely reflects upon her own ignorance. Ms Hanson never finished high school. She does not have an economics degree. Her opinions are about as useful, as those you hear from the drunks in the pub. These folk are free to air their views downunder, but I don’t want one of them running the country, even if they are a puppet or quisling for a mining magnate, who spends more time in America than here in Australia.

Selling Nostalgia In The Politics Of Grievance

Far right politicians sell nostalgia for the past, a past that never really existed and has Buckley’s chance of returning. Xenophobic loud mouths, like Pauline Hanson, trade on the politics of grievance, promising retribution upon the enemies within. Blame it on Muslims, Asians and those new Australians with the wrong coloured skin. In the era of social media, the American culture of complaint is out of control on steroids. Too many of us are whinging and griping about everything. Russian bots are stirring up trouble online and you don’t know the difference between what’s real and what’s not online. AI has made everything worse. Counterfeit humans abound saying stuff you don’t know if its real or not. It should be a punishable crime to counterfeit human beings online. It is identity fraud. Right wing influencers do it all the time. One Nation is at it. Trump does it.

The corruption of truth has been made ubiquitous in the time of Trump.

Now, is not the time to throw your lot in with a bunch of loud mouthed racists. Look at Trumpland if you want to see what happens when you put inexperienced extremists into power. The global economy is in meltdown, inflation is rising again in the wake of Trump tariffs and his war with Iran. The bond rate is rising sharply and this is dire news for an economy $40 trillion in debt. The price of diesel is killing those businesses dependent upon it. Transport in Australia is dependent upon diesel, for better or worse, and that means rising prices for everything. Trump’s far right culture war agenda is to blame. One Nation is Trump downunder.

“OK, the Trump regime is now live streaming public executions by firing squad. It started with UFC staged fights on the White House lawn and has descended into further barbarism. Did you know that if you criticise ICE on social media and live in the United States, you can expect a visit from DHS to your home? This is fascism up and running in America. ICE continues to shoot and murder American citizens in cold blood around the country. This huge paramilitary force of heavily armed, masked henchmen is spreading fear wherever they go. I wonder for how much longer is the Australian government going to turn a blind eye to the abominable behaviour of its ally? When will Australia say to Trump’s America enough is enough? Will Australia stand up to Trump? “
