We run our nation on diesel and yet, we don’t produce it ourselves. We subsidise the price of diesel to the tune of billions every year for miners and others. This is how stupid our governments are and how flagrant they are with our tax dollars. Australia is one of the biggest exporters of LNG globally. However, our trucks do not run on gas but on imported diesel. At the same time, we don’t properly tax LNG, so miss out on tens of billions every year. Trump To Ban Diesel Exports From America
The Trump war with Iran has sent the price of diesel through the roof. Our reliance on diesel to truck goods around the nation means that everything is going up in price due to increased transport costs. This is called inflation. Inflation means interest rates will rise. Trump is threatening to ban exports of diesel. This will send the already high diesel price even higher. Remember this – Australia biggest importer of diesel in the world. For decades our federal governments have known that we are dependent upon importing this energy into the country. Meanwhile, they have overseen the billions invested in LNG extraction by foreign multinationals and done nothing about actually using this resource for our own needs. What kind of leadership and management of resources is this? Where is the national interest in this fool’s errand.

The LNP federal governments, who were running the country for some 20 years, oversaw the massive exploration and extraction of LNG. They did nothing to alleviate Australia’s dependence upon diesel. Neither did Labor, when they held minority government during this era. What kind of governance is this? Fair weather friends with no vision, playing politics to the detriment of the nation. The stupidity is gobsmacking. Hang your heads in shame Tony Abbott, Malcolm Turnbull and Scott Morrison. Is this incompetence or corruption? Or a likely combination of both? We the people get to pay the cost for this mismanagement of our resources and requirements. Australia is becoming unaffordable for large swathes of the population.

Right wing corruption is everywhere you look. Trump in America is an abomination. His proxies downunder are One Nation and Pauline Hanson. This far right political party is the plaything of mining billionaire Gina Rinehart. Billionaires believe they know better than you or me. Social Darwinism is their methodology, where the wealthy/strong survive and lesser folk go under. White supremacy and xenophobic finger pointing and dog whistling are One Nation ways and means. Blame it on the immigrant and refugee are the politics of grievance. Greedy white skinned folk reckon they are more deserving than anyone else. Let us call a spade a spade! Barnaby Joyce, the traitor, has jumped from the Nationals to One Nation – loyalty means nothing to this guy.

Corrupt right wing proxies downunder have let the rest of us down. I remember the Morrison government during the Covid global pandemic talking about doing something to address our vulnerabilities and dependence upon imports. They did absolutely nothing!

If we ban those coming into the country, who normally do these jobs, what is going to happen to all these essential and often low paying jobs? Who will fill them? “
